Bukayo Saka Hands Gunners Victory To End 14-Game Winning Run

  • Bukayo turns out to be Arsenal’s hero
  • Gunners won 1-0 over Bodo/Glimt

The Gunners face Bodo/Glimt in Norway for the third round of the Europa League group-stage fixtures with 100% record so far in the competition.

Bukayo Saka turned out to be Arsenal’s hero on Thursday night, as his first-half strike ensured the Gunners a 1-0 win over Bodo/Glimt in group A of the UEFA Europa League.

Heading into the game on the back of their first two victories, the Gunners ensured they continued their fine form as they went ahead through Bukayo Saka in the 24th minute when the England winger found space on the right, after a succession of passes.

Proving hot to handle on a cold night, an ever-dangerous Pallegrino nearly got a quickfire equiliser for Bodo/Glimt shortly after the opener, but goal keeper Matt Turner was quickly out of his area to nullify the threat.

Turner continued in such vein to prevent any balls from rolling into goal posts and maintained the rest of the first half with conceding.

The second half was not different despite a concentration lapse in the Gunners’ backline which almost saw Ola Solbakken scoring from close range.

Eventually, Arteta’s side closed the game out to make it 11 Europa League group stage away games unbeaten, additionally ending Bodo’s run of 14 successive home wins in continental action.
