DCI detectives who are currently working on the probe of Geoffrey Mwathi’s death have indicated that he was killed before been thrown out of DJ Fatxo’s apartment.
On that fateful day, Mwathi had visited Lawrence Njuguna alias DJ Fatxo who had offered him a business deal as his interior decorator.
This report comes a week after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) took over the case from Kasarani Police station’s detectives.
The detectives from DCI started the investigation afresh and currently they have made a significant progress on delivering justice to Mwathi’s family.
In a report broadcasted by Citizen TV, Mwathi was murdered before he was thrown out from the rooftop of Redwood’s apartment in Kasarani.
According to detectives’ report, there was a confrontation in Fatxo’s apartment before Mwathi was killed.
They added that their investigations after scene reconstruction and forensic analysis showed that Mwathi really struggled before he was killed.
The detectives ruled out the suicide claims adding that the killers threw Mwathi off the apartment in order to cover up their actions.
Additionally, the homicide detectives concluded that Mwathi could not fit in the frames of the window in which he allegedly used to jump off.
The concluded report involved interviewing the first cluster of witnesses in this case, forensic examination of the scene as well as the analysis of CCTV footages of the Redwood apartments.
The DCI indicated that their next step will be interrogating persons of interest who includes five people who were in Fatxo’s house on that fateful day, the Kasarani Police officers who first handled the case and also making the required recommendations to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
