Sisi Opens Alexandria’s El-Taameer Road Axis

The new axis, which has nine traffic lanes in each direction, runs for 35 kilometers from its intersection with the Cairo-Alexandria Desert route to the Sidi Kerir Road/Borg El-Arab airport, according to the Egyptian president.

The El-Taamer axis, according to the president, represents a significant qualitative advancement that will open up new development potential for the entire Western region of the Alexandria governorate. By connecting the Dekheila port with the international coastal route, the desert road, and the city of Borg El-Arab, it will expand the urban area. Through the seaside road, it also connects Alexandria with the city of New Alamein.

Hala El-Said, the minister of planning and economic development, presented a presentation about the country’s economic situation at the time and the steps the government has taken to lessen Egypt’s exposure to the effects of the global financial crisis.
