President William Ruto is set to fly out of the country on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, for a two-day State visit to the Republic of Rwanda.
State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed confirmed that the visit to the country was in honour of an invitation by the host ,President Paul Kagame with the main agenda being infrastructural development for instance the Northern Corridor integration project.
“At the invitation of his host, President Paul Kagame, the two Heads of State are expected to deliberate on areas of mutual interest and cooperation, including the Northern Corridor integration projects, food security, innovation and ICT, health and education,” Mohamed said.
Hussein went on to highlight a number of issues of concern the two leaders will deliberate on.
“The visit is further expected to enhance trade and commerce cooperation within the East Africa Community (EAC) and the African continent, as the two leaders re-affirm their commitment to EAC integration and the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA) cooperation for trade and economic growth. Regional peace and security will also feature in the discussions that will culminate in the signing of bilateral agreements,” he added.
President Ruto last week on Thursday jetted back into the country from his four-days visit to Germany and Belgium where he focused on deepening trade ties between Kenya and the European Union.
