Mwengi Mutuse Reveals How Ruto Felt About His Impeachment Motion

Kibwezi West member of parliament Mwengi Mutuse has revealed how Ruto felt about the impeachment motion.

Mutuse filed a motion in parliament to impeach the then deputy president Rigathi Gachagua. Mutuse brought the bill to the table of the house, and his motion was successful as Gachagua was successfully impeached and replaced by Kithure Kindiki. Many felt Mususe had no intentions at all to impeach Gachagua, as his accusations seemed to be untrue, as he was following orders from above.

The Member of Parliament for Kibwezi West has now revealed that President William Ruto was not sure whether to support the motion or not. “We did not speak about the issue of moving the motion. In fact, the indication we got from the initial days was that the president was a bit careful. He was not sure whether it was the right move.”He said.

He continued to reveal that he sought the help of several members to succeed in the motion. ‘They (Junet and Ichung’wah) asked me to give them something to look at. They looked at it and got interested. They helped me mobilise members of parliament to support the motion.” He said.
