Mastercard Foundation Partners African School of Governance to Tackle Leadership, Education and Research Challenges in Africa

Mastercard Foundation has sealed partnership with African School of Governance (ASG) to address the challenges African countries face in leadership, education and research. This partnership, according to Mastercard Foundation, aims to equip Africa’s emerging leaders with unique and varied skills to secure promising future for the African growing leaders of tomorrow.

Appreciating this partnership, on Tuesday 15th January 2025, the newly launched African School of Governance pleasantly welcomed its mandates which includes addressing the continent’s pressing governance challenges by equipping emerging leaders with the mindsets, skills
and knowledge required for great leadership.

Held at the Kigali Convention Centre, the launch of the ASG hosted a variety of high-profile figures including the Co-Founder of ASG and Guardian of the ASG Foundation, H.E Hailemariam Desalegn; President of
ASG, Professor Kingsley Moghalu; and the Rwandan Minister of Education, Hon. Joseph Nsengimana, to name a few.

The launch, marked an exodus of an exciting long journey for African leadership and governance systems, which looks promising for a prosperous future driven by Africa-centered approaches from capable leaders and policymakers.
