KRA Reshuffles Leadership in Push for Reforms and Service Efficiency

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has unveiled key leadership changes as part of its broader strategy to boost efficiency, strengthen institutional capacity, and accelerate reforms in tax administration.

At the heart of the changes is the confirmation of Nancy Ng’etich as Commissioner for the Shared Services Department. Having served in an acting capacity since February 2023, Ng’etich has been instrumental in driving organizational reforms, aligning human resources with KRA’s 9th Corporate Plan, and advancing technology adoption to enhance revenue mobilization.

Her appointment underscores KRA’s focus on modernizing operations and deepening reforms in customs and tax policy. With a background as Deputy Commissioner of Policy and International Affairs and experience at Ernst & Young, Ng’etich brings both local and international expertise to the role.

In addition, KRA has made strategic adjustments in the Large and Medium Taxpayers Department, appointing Doreen Mbingi to take charge in an acting capacity. This comes as Rispah Simiyu, the former Commissioner for Domestic Taxes, transitions to the Ministry of National Treasury and Economic Planning.

The leadership shake-up signals KRA’s commitment to reforming tax administration, strengthening compliance, and aligning with Kenya’s broader economic agenda
