Kenya has called upon all African Countries to embrace the use of Al as the fastest means to accelerate Africa’s economic growth.
Speaking at an even that marked the 41st International Association of Science Parks
and Areas of Innovation World Conference held in Nairobi, the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has acknowledged the potential of Artificial Intelligence, urging all African states to expedite its adoption.
Gachagua further emphasized Kenya’s commitment to integrating Al across key economic sectors. The Kenya’s second-in-command believes Al can speed-up Africa’s journey to attaining fast economic growth.
Highlighting Kenya’s ambitious plans during that conference that returned to Africa after 20 years attracting representatives from over 50 countries, Gachagua took pride of Kenya’s commitment to employing Al stating the ongoing projects that includes installation of 100,000 km of fiber optic cable and the establishment of digital hubs in 1,400 wards nationwide. These initiatives aim to provide digital access and job opportunities, fostering a knowledge-based, tech-driven economy in Kenya.
Gachagua stressed the importance of developing customized solutions to address Africa’s unique challenges and resources, rather than relying solely on imported technology.
With Al projected to contribute
$16 trillion to the global economy by 2030, he urged African nations to position themselves to benefit from this technological revolution.
