Java House restaurant has appointed Priscilla Gathungu as the first female Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Gathungu’s appointment will be effective from November 2022 and takes over from Derrick Van Houten who joined the firm in March 2021.
“CEO Appointment: Java House Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Priscilla Gathungu as Group Chief Executive Officer,” Java House Africa said on its LinkedIn Page.
Gathungu’s career journey with Java spans various leadership roles across the group.
“From the HR department as Human Resource Director for 6 years to a successful stint as Commercial Director that saw her transition into Divisional Managing Director Foodscape where she has consistently delivered value and growth for the business over the last two years,” added the statement by Java.
Houten previously served as Kuku Foods East Africa Holdings Ltd, a KFC franchisee in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda as Group Managing Director.
