President William Ruto has launched the Last Mile Electricity Connectivity Project, that is set to consume Ksh.3 Billion to connect Electricity in Kakamega county households.
During is 6-day visit to Western region, the Head of State emphasized on government’s vision to enhance access to reliable and affordable power by 2030.
“We have invested KSh3 billion to connect more than 35,000 households in Kakamega County to electricity as part of our efforts to achieve universal access to reliable and affordable power by 2030,” stated President William Ruto.
Pushing harder for the implementation of this initiative, Ruto reiterated on the needs to transform lives and boost businesses across the country to drive Kenya’s economic growth.

During the launching of Last Mile Electricity Connectivity Project, the President visited Lukhumbi Village, Shinyalu, witnessing a 50-year-old woman; Rose Kharakha experience the life-changing moment of being connected to the grid.
Ruto was accompanied by his Deputy Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Speaker Moses Masika Wetang’ula, E.G.H,MP, Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon Musalia W Mudavadi, Cabinet Secretaries, Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa OGW, MPs and a number of MCAs.
