Google has launched a global Accelerator program for Generative Al, offering a combined package of up to $30 million in funding and a 6-month accelerator program that includes pro bono support from Google employees, technical training, and Google Cloud credits.
The initiative, open from January 7 to February 10, 2025, targets nonprofits, civic entities, academic institutions, and social enterprises working on social impact problems using generative Al across three focus areas: Knowledge, Skills, and Learning; Scientific Advancement; and Resilient Communities. Selected organizations can receive between $500,000 and $2 million+ in funding.

The program features a structured 6-month accelerator that requires approximately 4 hours per week commitment from participants’ executive leadership and technical leads, culminating in a Demo Day for prototype presentations.
Organizations must commit to open-sourcing any intellectual property created with the funding, and the program includes both virtual and in-person components, with at least two key in-person gatherings planned. Key support includes dedicated Al Coaches, Project Success Managers, technical training, mentorship opportunities, and optional Google Cloud credits, with funding available for use over 30 months to support prototype development and scaling after program completion.
