Deported Lawyer Miguna Miguna Promises Return to Kenya

A lawyer of Kenyan descent who was refused entry after the government allegedly stripped him of his citizenship tweeted that he has been given the go-ahead to return home.

Miguna Miguna was violently deported from Kenya in 2018 after he attempted to enter the country from Canada where he is a dual citizen.

The administration of former president Uhuru Kenyatta refused to make Mr. Miguna’s return easier despite numerous court orders.

The flamboyant attorney and seasoned politician Raila Odinga were allies, but they parted ways.

Mr. Miguna, a Canadian, supported President William Ruto during his campaign and later sharply criticized Mr. Odinga and Mr. Kenyatta’s administration.

On Tuesday, he tweeted that he would soon reveal the time of his return.
