Azimio Puts Bi-Partisan Talks on Hold Once More

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance has halted bi-partisan discussions with the Kenya Kwanza government for the second time.

In a statement shared on Twitter, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna announced the suspension, citing a deadlock over key interim measures, including the reduction of Unga prices, preservation of IEBC Servers, halting IEBC reconstitution, and ceasing interference with Jubilee Party.

Sifuna emphasized the significance of these measures in safeguarding the outcome of the talks, expressing hope for a resolution.

This development follows Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s recent warning that they would return to street protests if the bipartisan talks fail to address the issues of high cost of living, IEBC server concerns, and political party independence.

Raila stated that the bipartisan committee had fourteen days to find solutions, or else they would take to the streets again.
