Majority Whip in the National Assembly, Silvannus Osoro, has dismissed Kenyans opposing the Adani deal, urging them to propose an alternative investor to upgrade Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
On his official Twitter handle, Osoro lamented that Kenyans are too noisy, demanding more from the government while failing to provide solutions and resisting paying taxes.
He stated, “You want and deserve a MODERN AIRPORT. You DO NOT want to PAY taxes. The government does not want to burden you further with more borrowing. PPP is LEGAL. Get us another INVESTOR to facelift the airport. We can’t be a NOISY lot with NO SOLUTIONS,” wrote Osoro.
This development follows recent talks suggesting that Adani Group has signed a deal with the government under the PPP framework to upgrade the airport, allowing the group to manage it for 30 years.
However, the government refutes these claims, stating that the deal’s aim is simply to improve the airport to national standards.
