Molo MP Kimani Kuria has forgiven the hooligans who invaded his home in Elburgon, Nakuru County, looted property, and set his chicken farm and car on fire.
Kimani, who was in the area for a development forum, asked the DCI to release all suspects who were arrested after they raided the legislator’s home during the Gen Z protests three weeks ago.
“I ask the DCI and the police to withdraw charges against all the youth who were arrested and charged. Let them be released so they can get back to work.” said Kimani Kuria, who also doubles up the Chairperson Finance and Planning Committee.
Kimani, however, warned the residents not to commit such crimes again, emphasizing that it was wrong for individuals to take advantage of the protests to settle political scores and steal property.
Last month, the demonstrations took a destructive turn, leading to the vandalism of MP Kimani’s home. Irate demonstrators breached the perimeter wall surrounding the MP’s house, burned and destroyed cars, and looted valuables, in what the police described it as acts of anarchy.
Some of those who invaded the home walked away with animals and other valuables. This happened because Kimani was a prominent supporter of the financial bill that has since been dismissed by the president.
