President William Ruto has refused to sign the Finance Bill, 2024. Preliminary reports indicate that he has ordered the bill to be sent back to Parliament.
Additionally, Ruto has proposed several amendments to the bill, which members of parliament will consider today before proceeding to the parliament.
This comes a day after youth stormed parliament calling on the MPs to reject the finance bill in totality, protests that led to the death of individuals and leaving others injured.
Ruto to Address the Nation
As part of its continuous discussions around the finance bill, Ruto is expected to address the nation at around 4 PM even as the youth continue to champion for the rejection of the bill in totality.
