Kenyans Shocked by “Ghost Schools” in Baringo County.

In a shocking revelation that has left Kenyans both baffled and outraged, NTV Kenya recently uncovered the existence of ‘ghost schools’ in Baringo County.

According to the expose,these schools, equipped with signboards, gates, bank accounts, and board members, shockingly lack any students or classrooms. Some of the them have gates which lead to open bushes.

The scandal has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with users like Farhiya Abass and Ela M Kimwele questioning the integrity of the Ministry of Education and the government’s commitment to combating corruption and turning around the education system in Kenya. Some users, such as Britney Michelle and Gamechanger, humorously speculated about the schools’ potential use as “polling stations” or even having KCSE grades, highlighting the absurdity of the situation.

The public outcry has been intense, with many expressing disappointment and frustration over the misuse of funds meant for education transformation in the country.

As the nation grapples with this revelation, calls for accountability and reform within the education sector have grown louder, with Kenyans demanding transparency and action from their leaders.

Despite the revelations, the ministry of education has not issued any clarifications regarding the existence of the schools and if whether they are registered and approved by government.
