Nakuru-based vernacular radio station was reportedly ambushed by a group of armed robbers during its live broadcast on Friday night. Mwinjoyo FM which broadcasts at the heart of Nakuru City, was attacked by thugs who were heavily armed with rifles and machetes.
In a viral video shared by blogger Simon Mwangi Muthiora on his Facebook page, the goons robbed the presenter and his guests as they were live on air. In the video, the thugs are seen penetrating through the station’s main door as the puzzled lead presenter and guests make a pin drop silence.
“Laleni Chini!” one of the thugs covered with a piece of cloth commanded the presenter and his guests.
The other robbers followed in and this forced the station’s programme to be on halt for a while. They reportedly made their way out of the station with several phones and other valuable stuffs.
It’s not yet known what unraveled after the incident since the station is yet to release a statement on the same.
