Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke known by his stage name Davido, has announced his comeback in the music industry where he is set to release his fourth studio album, “Timeless”, on March 31.
This comes a few months after the artist bid goodbye to his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, where he had to pause on social media and music production to mourn his only son.
Ifeanyi died on October 31, 2022, after drowning in a swimming pool at the artist’s Lagos home.
Davido explained the album title in a press statement.
“There is a time for everything. A time to grieve and a time to heal. A time to laugh and a time to dance. A time to speak and a time for silence. I do all of this in my own time, grounded by your love which is TIMELESS,” the musician noted.
The American-born Nigerian singer and songwriter captured these statement in an Instagram video that featured his last 11 years in the music industry.
He also thanked his fans for their continued support despite the situation he has been going through.
“Thank you to everyone out there for your love and support that has held me down. All the love and messages while I was away, the gifts sent, the concerts you all threw! I appreciate it all. Today, I want to remind you all that what is now Timeless, was once new. It’s time for new. My next album TIMELESS is here, March 31st. Pre-save link in bio,” the artist captioned the video.
“Timeless” becomes the artist’s first album since “A Better Time” was released in 2020, where it peaked at Number four on the billboard of World Albums chart.
The album featured a number of international artists like Chris Brown, Young Thug, Nicki Minaj, Nas, Tiwa Savage, Lil Baby among others.
The artist also deleted majority of the posts on his Instagram page including his profile picture.
The superstar’s Instagram page which has over 26.5Million followers was only left with pictures of Ifeanyi, Davido’s performance at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and his lover, Chioma Rowland.
