Bien Aime Barasa who is the Sauti sol lead singer has shared his view on the current topical issue about LGBTQ, following recent supreme court ruling.
The musician, while speaking in an exclusive interview with TV 47, came out clean to be a proposer of the Queer Community in Kenya, adding that everyone should be permitted to only do whatever brings delight to them.
“Mi nasupport LGBTQ sana. Mi nasupport watu kufanya kenye wanataka expression yao.” He said.
According to him, the government should focus on chronic issues directly affecting the people of Kenya and cease magnifying little issues that people do behind closed doors.
“Hio Kenya shida zetu ni njaa, shida zetu ni economic empowerment, shida zetu ni proper education in our schools… There are so many problems that come before this LGBTQ Issue.” He added.
His point was clear that even if the Queer Community is completely done away with in the country, won’t change the fact that sufferings Kenyans face on a daily basis from corruption and hunger will still be there.
For him, the emphasis put on Lesbianism and Homosexuality is hoodwinked by the government to divert the attention of the people of Kenya from things that actually matter.
In conclusion, Mr Bien advised Kenyans to invest the energy they are wasting discussing LGBTQ matter to issues of proper healthcare, education and even fighting corruption.
Do you agree with Bien?
