Tanzanian Musician Faustina Charles Mfinanga popularly known as Nandy has launched a record label dubbed ‘ The African Princess.’
The label is set to only accomodate women artistes.
Sharing on social media, Nandy said she had taken note of the fact that the music industry has very few female artists and therefore launching the record label is part of her dream to support upcoming artists and nurture their talents.
“Ninayo furaha kubwa kuileta kwenu Rasmi THE AFRICAN PRINCESS LABEL…! 2023 lebel ambayo itahusisha wanawake tu! Kama tunavo ona industry ya watoto wa kike ni chache sana na uthubutu umekuwa ni mdogo so tunaimani na kuomba the African princess label itaongeza wingi wa vipaji vya watoto wa kike waliopo mtaaani wenye ndoto kubwa ya kuwa wanamziki!!.”she wrote.
Nandy said she hopes that the media will give her the support she needs to make her dream come true, adding that the label will sign artists from all over Africa and not just Tanzania.
“Ni matumaini yangu makubwa kwa MEDIA, BLOGS, MASHABIKI mtatupokea kwa moyo mmja na kutupa support ya Hali na Mali Ili tuweze kufanikisha ndoto za mabinti walio mtaani… Lakini pia hii label SIO ya wa Tanzania tu!Ni label ya AFRICA. So tutarajie kuona vipaji mbali mbali kutoka nchi mbali mbali. Ndo mana inaitwa AFRICAN PRINCESS LABEL.”She added.
Nandy revealed that she will introduce the first signed artist on Thursday 19th January.
She has now joined a list of Tanzanian musicians such as Diamond Platnumz, Ali Kiba, Harmonize, Rayvanny among others who own their own record labels.
