Bandits broke into the home of former National Assembly Speaker Francis Ole Kaparo in the Laikipia North Constituency.
Gunshots rang out at Kaparo’s private school, Lenitile Hills Academy, as the gang drove away with 17 camels around 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 22.
The bandits struck just two weeks after CS Kithure Kindiki visited this same bandit-prone constituency following the brutal killing of Motiok Chief Jacob Loyangile. Sarah Lekolele, a member of parliament for Laikipia North, alerted the community to the occurrence on her social media sites. As the armed robbers invaded the home just a few meters from Doldol Police Station, she chastised the security guards for their negligence.
The MP asserted that we are no longer safe by saying, “Imagine attacking Kaparo’s home, which is less than a kilometer from Doldol Police Station.” After the event, the police sprang into action, according to Laikipia North DCC Bernard Odino, and retrieved six camels.
“A police team is on the ground hunting for the other 11 camels and the bandits. In an effort to apprehend the criminal elements, the locals should provide information to the security authorities, stated the Deputy County Commissioner.
