Nakuru-based supermarket Gilani’s has opened a new distribution facility in Mombasa, as it seeks to expand its distribution services across the coastal region.
Gilani’s services will extend beyond the County of Mombasa that borders Kilifi, Lamu and Taita Taveta devolved units and will target dukas, minishops, mini markets, as well as supermarkets.
Started in 1974, Gilani’s has grown to become one of Nakuru’s and former Rift-Valley’s region biggest retail and wholesale facilities with interests in supermarket, hospitality and real estate.
The Supermarket, which sits on 58000 square feet, offers a wide range of consumer goods and products; It also has a warehouse for bulk buying with over 120,000 sq. ft of storage space, where all distribution products are stored.
The warehouse facility also houses a workshop department, which ensures effective management of fleet.
Its real estate investments include Tower 1 and CBD Prestige in Nakuru.
“The Club Road premises also consists of Gilani’s Restaurant, which comprises: The Cafeteria– a fast food restaurant, The Magic Carpet – a formal dining room, and The Penalty Box – a newly renovated coffee bar and lounge,” the firm says on its website.
“Gilani’s Restaurant offers a variety of cuisines including, but not limited to, Indian, Chinese, Continental & local dishes. We offer in-house and outside catering services for all occasions and corporate events,” it adds.
