Kenya Airways announced the death of a passenger who died on board KQ612 flight from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to Mombasa.
According to the statement released today by the airline, the decease d started to experience breathing problems while boarding the plane scheduled to depart at 7pm and later succumbed even with the attention of medical personnel at the airport.
It has been revealed from trusted sources that the passenger is a deputy governor whose name and county represented remains unknown, was reported to be travelling to Mombasa ahead of Friday induction of governors. The airline expressed great loss to family and friends as the security and health officers work on the issue.
“Kenya Airways PLC regrets to announce that a passenger developed breathing difficulties this evening while boarding KQ612 that was scheduled to depart for Mombasa at 1900hours.The passenger was pronounced dead by medical personnel at JKIA while the aircraft was still on the ground. The JKIA health and security agencies are currently handling the issue. We convey our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.” Read.
KQ has recorded the third tragic death of a passenger on board in less than a month with the recent case where a diabetic passenger was pronounced dead a board a flight KQ002 that was heading to New York City from Nairobi.
